Dear Friends of Great River Faith in Action,

Thank You Volunteers

One of our 2018 goals was to increase our volunteer base, so that we would be able to serve all of our clients needs. I am happy to report that while we have not been able to fill every need, we are seeing a significant drop in unmet needs. We thank those new volunteers that have come along side of us. As we move forward we will continue to look at ways to increase our volunteer base.

Fundraising Events – Best Year Yet

Our two major fundraising events had their best year for us in 2018. We had over 200 people attend our gala in March and had 72 golfers at our scramble in August. We thank everyone who attended and/or contributed to these great events.

2019 Goals

As we look forward to 2019, our goals are to increase our volunteer base and once all of our clients needs are met to begin to expand the number of clients that we are serving. According to the Minnesota Department of Human Services, Sherburne and Wright counties will see the percentage of their populations that are 65+ go from 10.2% to 21.3% by 2030. We are positioning ourselves for this so we will be able to serve this ever increasing part of our population. If you can volunteer as an individual, couple, family or group, please contact us. We need volunteers to assist with transportation, housekeeping, yard work and snow removal. Every little bit you can offer will make a big difference in the lives of our elderly population.

Furniture 4 Families Program Update

Our Furniture 4 Families program continues to grow. In 2019 we anticipate helping over 70 families with new or like new furniture and household items. We thank Becker Furniture World and Slumberland for their support of this great program. We are adding some new volunteers to assist with delivery of furniture, but always welcome more. If you are able to help for one afternoon or night a month delivering furniture to a family that has little or nothing in their home it would be greatly appreciated!

Thank You for Financial Support

As with all non-profits we also need financial support. If you have given recently or are able to give something now we thank you! Our annual gala will be March 30th at Rockwoods in Otsego and will feature comedian Bill Arnold and songs by Father Kevin Anderson. Hope to see you there!

Blessing to you,

Darin
