Dear Friends of Great River Faith in Action,
Within this article we share our appreciation for area churches, and so it is only fitting for me to start by saying, “Thank You!”
Thank you to the all the members of the body of Christ living within our community whom, through the sharing of your time and financial resources, have determined that GRFIA is a great tool to help us live true to the love we are to have for our neighbors.
I would also like to acknowledge all the local congregations who have come to see GRFIA not only as a tool for promoting what James refers to as being the true worship of God, “Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress…” James 1:27, but as a tool to promote unity between believers.
And in thinking about our local congregations, I would like to say a personal “Thank you!” to all the pastors and church leaders who embraced me as one of their own. It has been a year since I accepted the role as Executive Director of Great River Faith in Action, a year that I doubt I would have survived without your encouragement.
Without you, without our local churches raising funds for this ministry, without you sending out groups of individuals to help us clean houses and yards, without you helping us find individuals to drive an elderly man to the doctor’s office, a widow to the grocery store, or deliver a bed so that a child does not have to sleep on the floor, this ministry simply would not be possible. Thank you for coming alongside us and for using us as a tool for sharing Christ’s love with our neighbors.
As always, in His Grace and Love,
Curtis Hed
